This concrete floor in Herefordshire was a really interesting but unusual project as the floor was in what used to be an old Georgian corn mill. Our clients are now converting this space into their office area. As you’ll see it really is a unique area.
Second Time Polishing This Concrete Floor
The floor had already been attempted by our clients builder who was unable to develop a polish from this concrete. This is where we were contracted to grind back the previous work and redo from the start. We left the floor smooth, sealed with a nice level of gloss. The aggregate is now more evenly exposed and full of colour from the diamond refinement of our system.
Our Concrete Polishing Process
For this project we used the latest version of our CARRcrete InfinityFloor system, which takes what was already a superb concrete polishing system and pushes the possibilities further still. We now have an almost dust free system which offers a higher level of clarity and a harder more robust surface. CARRcrete constantly aim to improve our techniques with the latest research and technology in diamond abrasive tooling, chemicals and machinery.
A Polished Concrete Floor With Character
Dave’s Thoughts On This Floor
We feel really quite privileged to have worked on this concrete floor, it was set in a beautiful part of the country and in a lovely characterful property.
When I arrived on site I could see the floor had been treated to some form of mechanical smoothing down. The original finish as very matt and porous. After grinding back and processing the floor to our InfinityFloor specification the finish was spot on. Full of colour, vibrancy and now showing all those beautiful local stones. A great floor for a home office!

Benefits To Using Polished Concrete Flooring In An Office
The use of polished concrete in an office environment makes perfect sense on a lot of points; very hard wearing, high slip resistance, nice dispersion of ambient light, low static. Polished concrete is also very ECO friendly when grinding and polishing an existing concrete slab.
