InfinityFloor Salt:Pepper Polished Concrete Flooring

InfinityFloor Salt:Pepper our most industrial looking polished concrete floor finish, perfect for residential, retail and industrial projects.

InfinityFloor Salt:Pepper

InfinityFloor Salt:Pepper is our most industrial looking style of concrete flooring, think of it as being between a cream finish and an exposed stone look.

The surface of the concrete slab is ground with fine metal bonded diamonds to remove around 1mm of surface material, this exposes the sand layer beneath the cream.

In the sand layer of the concrete slab you’ll find various sizes of sand and small aggregates. Think of coarse ground black pepper and rock salt; which is where this finish gets the name.

This finish often selected because it offers some of the cloudiness from the cream with the robustness and durability of the stone.

You will have seen similar finishes to salt:pepper in factories, retail units and other more industrial looking locations.

InfinityFloor Salt:Pepper is available in soft sheen, satin and gloss luxe.

Facts At A Glance

  • You still need a very well laid, very smooth concrete surface with which to work on. With only 1mm of removal, there is very little scope for remedial grinding works. If you have a rough surface or a poor quality installation, you will need to select an InfinityFloor Stone finish.

  • It is impossible to guarantee uniformity and consistency of the small aggregates within the sand layer, some areas will naturally have more visible micro stones due to installation methods of the slab.

  • Around 1mm of surface material is ground away to the sand layer.

  • The colour of your concrete floor is determined by the colour of the sand used in your local area. For a grey floor you need either a colour shake added or a pigment in the concrete mix.

  • Ideally all newly installed concrete floors should be at least six weeks old before we arrive to perform our concrete polishing services.

  • All floors are hardened and sealed with our bespoke ceramic reinforced solvent sealer. Our floors are easy to clean and maintain.

  • Suitable for concrete floors over underfloor heating systems

Current Pricing

Each polished floor project is price on an individual basis to take into account: project size, number of rooms, obstacles, quality of concrete.

Please note we also offer a price match on any comparative quotations.

Like all of our concrete polishing projects, we always price each quotation on the following details:  project size, number of rooms, obstacles, quality of concrete and geographic location to determine the most accurate prices. Please note we also offer a price match on any comparative quotations.

Residential project pricing is approximately between £35 - £45 per square metre. **Smaller projects may be subject to our minimum pricing schedule.

A site visit and slab inspection will need to be undertaken to acertain the suitability of your concrete for this level of finish.

If your slab is not installed to a high enough standard, we may need to grind to a greater depth to an exposed stone finish and price accordingly.

Final Points

Please remember this style of concrete floor still needs a professionally installed, well laid slab with thorough power trowel to compress and smooth the concrete surface.

The strength and durability is highly dependant on the quality and hardness of the concrete slab we work with. Ensure you use high quality concrete mixes of at least C35 strength.

We have spent years refining our concrete polishing services with continual investment in machinery, diamond abrasive technology and high performance concrete sealers.
