  1. I’m sure this has been asked before but whats the main difference between Power floating when the concrete is still going off and the Diamond grind when its much older? I’m about to start a new build (so have the luxury of either option) want that concrete look but am totally in the dark as to which way to go.

    1. Hi Gus,

Power floated concrete with a wax sealer applied is often sold as polished concrete, but it’s mis-sold by those who can’t diamond polish. If you take a look at the link below you’ll see a photo showing the difference in the two finishes and an explanation of the two processes.

If you want a no stone concrete floor look, you can still have the floor power floated to push down the stones and later have the surface diamond polished to produce a superior finish.

Alternatively you could have a CARRcrete PROtop overlay applied to a screed or concrete base.

  2. Hi, could you lay concrete over a suspended floor? 4″x 12″ joists at 400mm centres with marine ply in fills between the joists the dpc thick polythene sheeting followed by 10 mm insulation board then electric underfloor heating mat.
    Leaving 12mm for the concrete.

    Thanks Steve

  3. Hi – we have an existing concrete kitchen floor, could this be polished? If so, do you cover West Yorkshire?
