New Polished Concrete Sealer

We’re proud to announce after extensive testing we have a new high performance stain guard and sealer for polished concrete floors, concrete stairs and polished concrete worktops. Being rapid to apply and cure, our new stain guard begins adding much needed protection to your porous concrete within minutes of application.

This new upper premium concrete stain guard allows the concrete to breath, resists water and oil based contaminants and lasts for up to 20 years, dependant on wear and maintenance. Plus being an impregnating sealer (the opposite of our competitors) there is nothing left on the surface to discolour, dull or become patchy through wear.

Our new polished concrete sealer will now be rolled out for all future projects, to ensure the highest levels of stain resistance for our clients on all polished concrete flooring, concrete worktops, steps and staircases.

Next week will be first time our new bespoke built machine will be unleashed on a concrete floor and it has a tough task ahead of it. We will be turning a rough tamped finish over 200m2 into a nice satin finish. It will be some transformation and needs to be as it will be featured on TV later in the year.

After this we have projects across country that are taking advantage of our unique diamond technology. Quite a few Mapei Ultratop projects in the south and plenty of polished concrete flooring around the south Yorkshire region.

New polished concrete sample service launched

Often it is hard to visualise what a polished concrete floor looks like in the flesh, photos are fine and do give a fair representation of what you can expect. But nothing beats seeing a floor or a large sample in front of you.

But as you can imagine, most of our clients who we have polished concrete floors for like their privacy, and we fully respect that. So trailing potential clients through their homes isn’t really an option.

So with this in mind, we have created a sample service where we will manufacture samples of the Mapei Ultratop system to your requirements. You can have any colour within the Mapei Ultratop range, add aggregates into the mix, have different levels of gloss. The choice is yours.

We’re dropping Fein polishers and moving to Metabo Polishers

After suffering numerous failures with our range of Fein variable speed hand polishing tools, we’ve made the decision to move to Metabo. Why? From what we have seen so far, Metabo offer a better build quality, lovely smooth gearing for getting the best from our diamond abrasives and they are considerably less expensive than the comparative Fein.

So from now one, when we are seen edging floors or hand polishing concrete, it will be with a Metabo polisher.

Polished Concrete Flooring For Eco Housing

We are pleased to announce we are now contracted to carry out over 400m2 of polished concrete flooring for a couple of Eco build houses in the east of the country. As our concrete polishing system works dry we use hardly any water to achieve a fabulous gloss. This means we can recycle our dust to be used in other projects.

Having worked with leading manufacturers of concrete grinding and polishing machines for years, we have now made the decision to have our own machine bespoke designed and manufactured to our requirements. Why settle for less? There’s too many drawbacks with current designs, we need to break the mould.

How our new concrete polishing machine will look, is at the moment the project is a closely guarded secret, but I can tell you it will be flown into the UK in May. Offers both rapid grinding of floor materials, high speed polishing for ultimate gloss and clarity and allows us to get really close into the edges of the walls, skirtings etc. Wet or dry working is possible and able to tackle even the toughest of jobs.

With this one machine we’ll easily tackle the polishing of concrete, stone, terrazzo and Mapei Ultratop for projects within our chosen niche of <300m2. For projects more than this we’d simply use more machines.

Mapei Ultratop Polishing

We are currently working on a series of sample boards for Mapei Ultratop flooring, polished in our own unique way. There is a need for us to do this as enquiries for the Mapei product are really high, with many seeing the topping as a genuine alternative to standard polished concrete. The aim is to give customers the chance to have a polished concrete look for new builds, extensions etc.

As Mapei Ultratop can be applied from 5mm – 40mm thick, it is perfect for laying over existing concrete floors that are sturdy and solid, yet unsuitable for polishing. The topping effectively gives your floor a whole new lease of life.

Mapei Ultratop is a great topping product that comes in a range of colours, is abrasion resistant and looks even more impressive when subjected to our swiss diamond abrasives.

Polished Concrete Floors Doncaster

LaFarge has kindly produced some concrete samples for us which we will grind and polish for our customer. This concrete polishing project in Doncaster is to be featured on Grand Designs later in the year.

The mix is LaFarge’s special concrete mix made specifically for polishing, using geographic aggregates and offering a high strength. Prefect for our high speed, high pressure concrete polishing system using Swiss diamond abrasives.

We’ve just had a new delivery of coarse metal bond diamond abrasives. These are used to grind away the cement paste to expose the aggregate within the concrete matrix.
